Our ChoppedGR Fundraiser Will Have to Wait Until 2021,
But We Still Have Plates to Fill This Year!

While we should be celebrating and filling our plates at our annual ChoppedGR Fundraiser this month, we had to put the event on hold and reimagine our 2020 fundraising plan. This year, instead of challenging our ChoppedGR chefs to fill their plates, we're challenging YOU to fill every plate!

Each year ChoppedGR challenges four local chefs to fill 3 judges' plates with their best culinary creations. This year we're challenging YOU to fill the plates of our 240 rockstar students by funding our Nutrition Program! We provide 84,000 meals to hungry students every school year. Students come to school knowing their hunger pains will soon subside thanks to healthy breakfast and leave each day with full bellies from a nutritious hot lunch. While our main focus will always be education, we know hungry kids can't learn. These daily meals provide the nutrition our students need to be successful in the classroom and thrive in their community. To keep our students fed, we need to fill 42,000 plates with breakfast and lunch this year. How many plates can you fill? Donate at www.filleveryplate.org

Challenge Your Friends to Fill Plates

It's always more fun to fill your plate with others. Join our Facebook Event page and invite your friends for fun videos from our ChoppedGR chefs, kitchen tips, hacks and fails, prizes and progress updates throughout the month of October. Reach out to your network and challenge them to help fill every plate. Invite them to our Facebook event, then copy and paste the following text on social media and tag friends to challenge them to give.
  • "I was challenged by Power of Education Foundation to help fill 42,000 plates with healthy meals this school year. I donated at www.filleveryplate.org to make sure students have the nutrition they need to be successful in the classroom. You can fill a plate for $1! I challenge (friend's names - challenge as many as you want) to help FILL EVERY PLATE at the Power of Education School in Haiti. How many plates can you fill? Please donate, copy post and tag your friends to keep this going until all plates are filled."

The Power of Education School Nutrition Program

The Power of Education Foundation opened a school in Port-au-Prince, Haiti in 2010 and currently supports 240 students, grades K-9, with quality education, nutrition support and health care. This school is an anchor in a vulnerable community, providing a safe place for children to learn. Our meal program is critical to the success of our students and for most are the ONLY meals they have each day.
