The Power of Education is operated by a dedicated group of volunteers which results in no administrative salary costs.
 

Jen Masternak, Director of School Partnerships

Jennifer worked as a pediatric occupational therapist at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital for 10 years. Her credentials include a Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy from University of Illinois at Chicago. Jennifer has experience leading educational programs both in Haiti and in schools here in West Michigan where she develops and maintains relationships on behalf of the Power of Education Foundation.

Kisten Olson, Director of Student Sponsorship

Kisten serves as the Director of Student Sponsorship for The Power of Education Foundation. In her role she administers the student sponsorship program, updates sponsors with news of the school, and facilitates communication between students and sponsors. Kisten is an instructional design consultant. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Rhode Island and a Master of Science in Training and Development from Lesley University.

Merril Stansbury, Educational Consultant

Merril Stansbury is currently a first grade teacher working in Long Beach California.  With 20 years experience and a Masters in Reading from California State University, Long Beach, Merril has extensive training in working with students at-risk as well as second language learners.  Having had training from the New Teacher Center, Santa Cruz, Merril has spent the past ten years coaching teachers as well as planning and leading district professional development.  She collaborates with our teachers and administrators in Fontamara to support the academic goals for our students.
